10 Most Disappointing WWE Moments Of 2016

9. The Old Day

Whoever said that nothing is ever objectively good or bad has obviously never seen The Old Day before. This segment wasn’t just one of WWE’s most WrestleCrap-worthy moments this year, but one of the most cringe-worthy pieces of television ever committed to film.

It was late summer, and The New Day and Gallows & Anderson were deeply embroiled in one of 2016’s worst feuds. Having spent the previous few weeks masquerading as a couple of testicle-obsessed doctors, Gallows & Anderson rebranded themselves as a set of retirement specialists.

They took-on the hilarious “O.L.D. F.A.R.T.” moniker, and set about preparing for Kofi Kingston, Big E, and Xavier Woods’ seemingly imminent retirement. As part of this, they decided to wheel-out a set of elderly New Day impersonators as a means of getting inside their opponents’ heads. What happened next was almost indescribably bad. Seriously, check it out for yourself…

Gallows & Anderson were already treading a destructive path prior to this, but this was the moment they jumped their shark. When Gallows & Anderson wheeled-out The Old Day, it effectively ended all hope of them ever becoming a credible WWE tag team: a massive disappointment, considering the success of their NJPW run.
