10 Most Elaborate Mind Games WWE Superstars Ever Tried
3. Kane vs. Kane
Victim: Kane Poor Kane! He's had more people try and screw with him than Walter White! In 2006, off of the back of WWE's desire to promote the first See No Evil film, they ran a promotion for the release date of May 19th as some kind of sinister coming secret regarding Kane's past. It generated a good amount of buzz so WWE decided to turn it into a whole angle later that year. As you'll see below, following weeks of promos in the middle of Kane's matches, an "Imposter Kane"- Drew Hankinson, the later Festus, DOC and Luke Gallows- walked down to the ring in Kane's old gear and laid him out. They would go on to have match at Vengeance where the Impostor actually won! Alike the Bray Wyatt angle, this is another idea which looked great on paper but failed in practice. The crowd didn't buy it, particularly because Hankinson didn't physically resemble Kane in body shape at all. The night after Vengeance, Kane beat the hell out of the Imposter, booted him out of the arena and he was never seen from again. An unfortunate end to an angle that began with a lot of promise. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-0sqYn07Vb8
