10 Most Embarrassing Wrestling Botches Of 2018 (So Far)

8. Flubbed Lines (WWE 205 Live - 6 March)

Drake Maverick has succeeded as a WWE authority figure by being the least "WWE authority figure" imaginable. Fair, just, and assertive, he largely stays out of the wrestlers' way, only inserting himself into storylines when absolutely necessary, never stealing shine from his roster.

His presentation has been spot on, and it helps that the former Rockstar Spud is a seasoned TV performer too. Still, nobody is immune to mistakes in WWE's heavily scripted world, with this notable lapse making it onto the 6 March episode of 205 Live's final edit.

It came during one of Buddy Murphy's weigh-in videos. Maverick, Murphy, and an official were gathered backstage, with the authority figure on hosting duties. He started his line, saying "Buddy, by the terms of your agreement," before losing his train of thought, petering out, apologising, clapping his hands, and starting again. This isn't a problem in itself, but the fact that WWE's editing team completely missed and it included it not only as part of the live broadcast, but also the video on-demand upload, makes it one of the year's more notable production botches.
