5. LaMelo Ball Uses Racial Slurs (June 26, 2017)

WWE control in-ring segments like never before, to the extent that performers are often required to memorise lengthy scripts. Deviating from that scripting is frowned upon, but the situation becomes more difficult when outsiders appear on programming. Enter one LaMelo Ball.

After his dad LaVar removed his shirt and began squaring up to The Miz, LaMelo used the dreaded 'n-word' over the live mic. Worse, the 15-year old did it twice. As a PG company with responsibilities to present a clean-cut product and keep shareholders happy, WWE must have been incensed by the teenager's comments.

WWE issued a statement saying they had nothing to do with LaMelo's choice of words, didn't script the line and found the language inappropriate. What a horrendous segment. It's no wonder WWE decided to cut portions out completely when uploading to their own YouTube channel.

Balls indeed.
