10 Most Exciting Run-ins In WWE History

2. Stone Cold Steve Austin (Raw Jul. 16, 2001)

So this one may not have arrived in an actual match, but it was nonetheless one of the most emphatic interferences in WWE history—and again it came courtesy of Stone Cold.

This was another chapter in the aforementioned Invasion angle, and it came on the Jul. 16, 2001 showing of Monday Night Raw when the Alliance were putting the boots to the WWF and humiliating them in their own backyard.

Then, in the tease of all teases, we saw a truck rock up in the parking lot, and out of it emerged the Rattlesnake.

Pool cue in hand - because obviously he’d gone there straight from the bar - he took out some Alliance fodder backstage, before making his way through the arena. The tease continued as we saw more and more shots of Austin making his way through the backstage area, until the anticipation reached its climax with that signature sound of the smashing glass.

Austin would emerge, talking trash, though it was almost difficult to make him out amidst the flailing arms of the audience. Once he finally got to the ring, anyone and everyone with a pulse and an Alliance t-shirt was promptly dealt a Stunner, as Austin well and truly saved the WWF’s bacon.
