Many fans may not know Raquel Rodriguez is a second-generation wrestler but she is certainly one of the brightest young talents in the wrestling world today. Her father Ricky Gonzalez was a Texas-based wrestler known as 'Desperado', but Raquel has already surpassed his achievements and then some - having had a memorable few years in NXT before moving to the main roster this year.

As Raquel Gonzalez, the powerhouse was one of the highlights of later period black and gold NXT, as her partnership with Dakota Kai helped both women advance in the stacked women's division the brand had at the time. The pairing drew comparisons to Diesel and Shawn Michaels, and Raquel used this momentum to put on great matches against Io Shirai, Ember Moon, and, most notably, Rhea Ripley.

Capturing the NXT Women's Championship and the ensuing feud with Kai was an obvious direction to take, but her title reign was not quite as spectacular as her rise to the top. When NXT transitioned into its 2.0 phase, it was clear Gonzalez was bound for the main roster, and has since been renamed as Raquel Rodriguez.

WWE obviously has big plans for the dominant Texan, who recently, briefly won the Women's Tag Team Titles titles alongside Aliyah. Rodriguez will no doubt be a World Champion at some point, but a heel turn would help her reach that point even sooner.
