10 Most Fake Wrestling Props Ever
9. The Cold-Blooded Snake That Warmly Greeted The Ultimate Warrior
Back in 1991, before the Ultimate Warrior left the WWF in a pay dispute, he was embroiled in a memorable if very silly programme opposite the Undertaker.
He was buried alive by the Dead Man, and upon recovering was mentored in the dark arts by Jake Roberts.
"You're already a bit of a piece of sh*t," Roberts said, "so consider this a post-doc."
As part of the curriculum, Roberts ordered Warrior to undergo three tests, the latter of which, a walk through a snake pit, was revealed to be a ruse. Warrior kicked several shoot snakes like he was instructed by Tony Pulis to play it long, but struggled with a cobra lurking in a mini casket. Now, the prop cobra wasn't that horrific, at first. It was a bit ridiculous - cobras aren't known to smile and say "Hiya" with their eyes - but it was shiny and well-made enough to pass the 6 year-old kid test.
When that friggin' thing popped out though, lol. It looked like a very long bullet.
So if the snake was quite obviously a prop, why was Warrior scared?
Was he selling it like a professional, or did it strike too much of a resemblance to a phallus for the noted homophobe to stomach?
