10 Most Fake Wrestling Props Ever

6. The Cardboard Metal Stage At AEW Blood & Guts

Terrible production choices and dismal props really undermined the Inner Circle Vs. Pinnacle feud, and it's ironic: an all-too-real prop, the wooden chair leg that excavated Dax Harwood's skull, set a tone of gory ultra-violence that the programme could not maintain.

Blood & Guts was a great match until it wasn't.

The closed roof; the uneasy tone of animosity, the rivers of blood: the tone was wonderfully Crockett, the action updated, primarily through Sammy Guevara's jaw-dropping high spots, to the modern standard. It was almost the perfect modernisation of wrestling's most brutal spectacle.

That was until AEW brained your intelligence with a steel chair thrown harder than the shot Shawn Spears delivered to Guevara.

In the grand climax of the match, MJF convinced the Inner Circle to surrender by threatening to throw Jericho off the roof of the cage. He did it regardless, but Jericho's genuinely brave bump was ruthlessly undermined by the fact that they printed bits of cardboard with a metal effect and passed it off as actual metal.

There's always some dipsh*t out there who likes to build a strawman. Nobody wanted Jericho to actually bump on metal. People just didn't want their intelligence to be insulted.

"Can't believe you wanted Chris Jericho to die smh. Smarks always ruining everything!"
