The past two decades have seen many superstars come and go from the WWE, many of which don't make it to the very top of the company despite their best efforts. Kofi Kingston is the embodiment of how hard work can pay off even after a decade of working for Vince McMahon.

Kingston began his WWE career very promisingly, winning a number of mid-card and tag titles and being profiled in a feud against mainstay Randy Orton. However, his early push only got him so far as Kofi became a normalized part of the roster and never made it to the main event of the company.

That was until 2019 when the New Day member went on a blistering run of form that took him all the way to a WWE Championship against Daniel Bryan at WrestleMania 35. The rise was aptly referred to as 'Kofi-Mania,' with fan support for Kingston reaching an all-time high hoping that he would dethrone the 'Planet's Champion.'

Thankfully, WWE followed through on the build-up and crowned Kofi Kingston as the world champion, over a decade after he first debuted in the company. Having the New Day by his side as he won the gold made Kofi's moment even more special as the group added another moment to its already rich legacy.
