Only one man has had the honour of facing The Undertaker at WrestleMania on three occasions. That man is of course Triple H, and their final 'Show of Shows' meeting at WrestleMania XXVIII was billed as the 'End of an Era'. Five years later, that may finally be true.

These two icons were on opposing sides of the televised ring on 35 occasions, 12 of which were one-on-one battles between them. Undertaker had the upper hand when it was just mono y mono, defeating Triple H on seven occasions with The Game only able to do the same twice. Those three WrestleMania matches are what sticks in the memory.

Both The Undertaker and Triple H were integral parts of the Attitude Era that revolutionised professional wrestling. Hunter's place in history is assured, but despite his vast number of battles with The Undertaker his name rarely comes up when discussing 'Taker's great rivals.

Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
