10 Most Gloriously Overbooked Matches In Wrestling History

7. Arguably The Best Coal Miner€™s Glove Steel Cage Tuxedo Loser Leaves Town Match Of All-Time

One thing that fans will always respect about the old Mid-South wrestling promotion was their ability to keep professional wrestling simple. The heels were heels, the babyfaces were babyfaces and when it came time to end a feud you did it with a simple Coal Miner€™s Glove Steel Cage Tuxedo Loser Leaves Town Match. Wait€what? Even though Ted Dibiase and Jim Duggan were two of the most over acts in the promotion at the time and were perfectly able to end their rivalry in a traditional contest, Mid-South bookers decided to throw together every stipulation in their arsenal to help them add excitement. The result was a contest wherein two men entered a steel cage in their tuxedos with the goal of retrieving a loaded glove weapon that could then be used on the opponent. The loser of this no time limit affair would have to leave the promotion for 30 days. Despite all of this, somehow these two incredible performers were able to put together a pretty good match in front of a red hot crowd. Yet this still has to be considered one of the most overbooked matches of all time simply because the wealth of stipulations enforced upon them could have easily hindered what was meant to be the blow-off match of a feud that had lasted years.
