This isn't even a contest. This is the worst thing to happen in WCW in a very long and storied history of bad things happening in WCW. In fact, it's what's widely considered to be the darkest day in the history of the industry.

David Arquette became WCW World Heavyweight Champion on April 25th, 2000 on an episode of Thunder. He was given the title in order to promote his terrible movie, Ready to Rumble, which was based on WCW and featured several of the company's superstars.

Curt Hennig, Mike Awesome, Eddie Guerrero, Perry Saturn, Raven, Dean Malenko, William Regal...these are just some of the guys who never won the World Heavyweight Championship during their time in WCW. But David f**king Arquette won it.

To make matters worse, he participated in the main event of Slamboree, tainting the industry even more. Despite his being a non-factor for much of his Triple Threat Cage Match with Jeff Jarrett and Diamond Dallas page, his mere presence in the contest was a constant reminder that somebody was going to have to win the World Heavyweight Championship away from David Arquette.

Who could ever be taken seriously as the "top guy" after that?
