2. Edge & Vickie Guerrero

Vickie Guerrero had a tough time as an on-screen character in WWE. She was constantly abused by the commentator and made fun of by the good guys, with John Cena the biggest culprit there. She was poorly treated by her on-screen romances too, with her marriage to Edge going ahead despite him sharing an on-screen kiss with wedding planner Alicia Fox, who would go on to carve out an impressive second career as a WWE wrestler.

Edge and Vickie would reign supreme over SmackDown, but were separated when Vickie became the General Manager of RAW in 2009. Vickie would be embarrassed by Santina Marella (eurgh) in a Hogpen match at Extreme Rules 2009, after which she resigned from her position as GM.

Her husband. Mr. Edge, would come out and apologise for saying disrespectful things about her. Instead of continuing this fairly noble route Edge revealed that he had only married Vickie to gain championship opportunities, and he proceeded to run Vickie down before demanding a divorce.

It was one of many on-screen embarrassments Vickie Guerrero was forced to endure during her time as a WWE performer. This time however, the crowd responded with a show of support for her as opposed to joining in with the cat-calls of the abuser. The joke of Vickie Guerrero, a joke that was tired on arrival, had finally expired for the WWE Universe.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
