10 Most Heavily Protected Wrestling Finishers Ever

1. Razor's Edge (Scott Hall)

It's an incredible looking move, the crucifix powerbomb, and one that requires a great level of strength and technique to execute.

There's little cooperation here. Unlike with throws and holds that start with the defending wrestler's feet on the mat (allowing them to leap or spring up), the burden is almost entirely on the aggressor, who must rely on their own power to suspend their opponent above their head before launching them across the ring. An impressive feat, visually, and an all-time great finisher, whether deployed by its innovator, Dan Spivey, or Razor Ramon.

No WWE wrestler ever kicked out of the Razor's Edge. Once Scott Hall threw you across the canvas, you were done.

Razor was never the most dominant between the ropes in Vinceland, eating plenty of notable pinfalls throughout his run, though the Razor's Edge was never burned as a means of generating drama in any of these defeats. Hitting it was a guaranteed pinfall and while many wrestlers were able to counter their way out of it (either through their own guile or Hall selling), none had the honour of popping their shoulder off the mat before three.
