Getting a rib pulled on you by one of the guys has got to be humiliating/terrifying/annoying (depending on the nature of it), but can you imagine how you would feel if Vince McMahon himself decided to play a prank on you? Ill-fated former announcer Jonathan Coachman doesn't have to imagine: he experience it firsthand. Jerry Brisco came up to Coach backstage at a Smackdown taping in 2001 and asked him to participate in a $10 football pool, picking all of the games that weekend. Everyone did it. A short while later two policemen knocked on Coach's door and told him that they suspected him of running a gambling pool, which was a felony in Carolina. The cops told Coach that he should inform Vince, since they were going to have to take him downtown to the station and it could be a while. Inside the office was Vince, Triple H, Stephanie, Kevin Dunn, The Rock and Jerry Brisco. Coachman suspected something might be up but was too terrified to ask. He thought he was going to get fired. Vince proceeded to chew Coach out, accusing him of being unprofessional and refusing to give him the $1500 bond saying 'f*** him, he's on his own'. So the 'cops' took Coach to the 'station' (while he had a pair of sweaty gym shorts on his face to hide his identity) before bringing him back and revealing the whole thing was a rib.
