10. Keeping Him WWE World Heavyweight Champion

2014 should have been Daniel Bryan's year, and it was right up until the point he was left unable to compete due to a neck injury. Due to the lack of clarity around his health issues, it's understandable that the WWE kept the belt on him for a while rather than immediately stripping him of it, but this did Bryan no favours and made his character look foolish. The storyline played out in a way which saw Bryan refuse to give the title up even though he knew he couldn't compete, and he even let his wife lose her job rather than relinquish the belt. After such a great year for the leader of the Yes Movement, his last few weeks as WWE World Heavyweight Champion couldn't have played out in a more unsatisfying manner. It almost felt like the weeks Bryan spent coming out to the ring in a neck brace being berated and humiliated were a way of punishing him for the fact that fans got him into the main event of WrestleMania! There were better ways this could have been handled.
