Asuka has without a doubt changed the landscape of women's wrestling in NXT. Her debut highlighted that, finally, women were now being considered on their merits and abilities. Asuka stood out among her fellow female competitors for her individuality, and both for her appearance as well as in-ring style. She doesn't flaunt herself as overly feminine, opting for pantsuits at contract signings. At the same time, she incorporates her culture into her persona in a way that is not at all demeaning or trite. And it all works so perfectly together in creating a believably competitive and dominant force in NXT.

To this day, Asuka remains undefeated in NXT, a record not many can say they hold. There still remains a widely-held belief that no woman in NXT is on her level - almost to the detriment of her matches, and fans don't buy the concept of her losing. Her credibility is through the roof, and her persona is what has sustained her dominance.
