There is perhaps not a more refined character in AEW than 'Hangman' Adam Page, as his personal story has run through the very core of the company since its inception. His redemption arc after began after losing the inaugural AEW World Championship match against Chris Jericho at All Out 2019 and continues to this day after finally winning the title and losing it again over the past year.

The Elite saga was a huge part of AEW's storytelling focus over the first few years, where Hangman became estranged from his former stablemates as the Young Bucks and Kenny Omega turned heel and won the world titles in their respective divisions. The 'Anxious Millennial Cowboy' struggled with his mental health and had to regain his confidence before facing off against his former friends, which he did with the help of the Dark Order.

Page defeated Omega for the AEW World Championship at Full Gear 2021, rewarding fans for following his journey back to the top of the promotion. Now without a title, Hangman remains one of the key figures in the promotion and will undoubtedly be the top guy once again in the near future.
