10 Most Important Wrestlers In AEW’s History

2. Chris Jericho

The master of reinvention Chris Jericho has perhaps had the best run of his career as part of AEW and the legend has become an intrinsic part of the brand. The inaugural AEW Champion has continued to find new ways to be entertaining ever since he shocked the wrestling world and joined the upstart company in 2019.

'Le Champion' was a great gimmick that helped Jericho be tremendously entertaining every single week, whether it was celebrating with a "little bit of the bubbly," or raising hell with his Inner Circle. Feuds with Jon Moxley, The Elite, and MJF highlighted a brilliant first year or so for the veteran, which led to him turning face and competing in a number of different personas, including the 'Painmaker' and 'Lionheart.'

After stalling somewhat with the Inner Circle and an awful feud with Dan Lambert's American Top Team, 'The Wizard' breathed new life into his AEW run by turning heel again and forming the Jericho Appreciation Society. Since then he has been putting on classic matches this year and has become 'The Ocho,' defending his ROH World Championship against Bryan Danielson, Dalton Castle, and Bandido.

Having signed a new multi-year extension with the company, fans can expect Chris Jericho to entertain like only he can for a long time.
