10 Most Important WWE Moments Of 2014

10. The Shield Splits Up

The Shield came out of absolutely nowhere to dominate the WWE landscape. Three "rookies" coming together to beat everyone placed in front of them, including former World Champion after former World Champion after former World Champion. For months, rumors and speculation were running wild over the group splitting up after a year-and-a-half together. Everyone figured the person who would turn would be either Dean Ambrose (most natural heel of the trio) or Roman Reigns (best candidate to be the next "monster" heel), but on June 2nd, it was Seth Rollins who would turn on his "brothers". Just like that, the most dominant group in company history was over. Rollins has gone on to do a much better job as a main event level singles heel than most thought he would. Ambrose appears to have a future as a possible #1 face, which is also a better performance than most people expected. Reigns has been set back by an injury, but all reports state that he'll be right into the WWE World Title picture upon his return, which will be much sooner than later. It's the rare group split where everyone was a huge success while in the group, and everyone looks to be a huge success on their own, as well.
