10 Most Improved Wrestlers Of 2018

5. Hangman Page

NXT TakeOver Chicago 2 Tommaso Ciampa
ROH

Unfairly dubbed "dull" by your writer earlier this year, Hangman Page is now one of the most ascendent wrestlers on the planet, having blazed through New Japan Pro Wrestling and Ring Of Honor to establish himself as a can't-miss prospect.

Page has blown that harsh (and premature) criticism out of the water. His G1 Climax was fantastic, yielding quality bouts against the likes of Kazuchika Okada, Michael Elgin, and Minoru Suzuki. He partook in the year's most insane spotfest when he and Joey Janela tried to kill each other and themselves at ALL IN. In ROH, his home promotion, Hangman stole Supercard Of Honor with a career-best showing against Kota Ibushi, and in Bullet Club Elite, he is well-established as an exciting long-term prospect. His ceiling isn't limitless, but it is lofty.

2019 should bring major opportunities for this rising star. His career has been one of year-to-year improvement, and while still an unfinished product, there's no reason he won't continue his ascent up the card in both ROH and NJPW, battling his way towards singles title contention in the process - provided WWE don't steal him away, that is.
