10 Most Improved Wrestlers Of 2022
3. Powerhouse Hobbs
Powerhouse Hobbs has gone from strength to strength in 2022, becoming a more rounded in-ring worker and a much more confident promo. He is almost certainly set to win his first title in AEW in 2023, which shows how far he has come as a performer in 2022.
Alongside the incomparable Ricky Starks, Hobbs has broken out as a singles star after a successful run as part of Team Taz, where he should have arguably been an AEW World Tag Team Champion with the 'Absolute' one. He is now one of the most intimidating forces in all of wrestling and has tussled with other big men in Samoa Joe and Wardlow over the TNT Championship, which he should definitely capture next.
The spinebuster sticks out as a staple of Hobbs' move set, but his overall power game has progressed to the point where his matches are amongst the most hotly anticipated on any AEW card. If Powerhouse can continue on this trajectory, then he could be a realistic AEW World Championship contender in another year's time.
