10 Most Influential WWE Matches Ever

5. Charlotte Vs. Natalya - NXT: TakeOver

Without Charlotte and Natalya's groundbreaking match at the inaugural TakeOver event, WWE officials may not have been convinced that their female roster had the chops to truly engage an audience in a lengthy contest.

The two women, however, told an emotive story, the dramatic stakes in which were escalated with consummate pace.

Initially wrestled with a mutual respect, the action intensified as they exchanged slaps during an exchange of figure-four leglocks, culminating in Charlotte attempting to wrench Natalya's legs off with an apron-assisted variation exacerbated with violent kicks to the knee.

It was a very well-worked match technically, but in the grand scheme of wrestling history, it wasn't entirely remarkable in itself - but it was remarkable for the simple fact that it resembled a wrestling match between two men, free as it was of the hair-pulling and shrieking prevalent in Divas matches fought on the main roster.

It was also allocated 16:54. The vast majority of Divas bouts rarely ran over seven minutes.

For perspective, Paige's Divas title defense over Tamina Snuka at Extreme Rules earlier that month lasted just 6:14, and was wedged in before the main event as an obvious cool-down.
