Considering that he's arguably the greatest in-ring performer of all-time, it should not come as a surprise to see Shawn Michaels on a list of innovators. Even still, he is somewhat underrated for his contributions to the world of high flyers. As a member of The Rockers, he and Marty Jannetty helped to usher in a new era of tandem maneuvers that nobody had ever seen before. As a singles competitor, he was really one of the first smaller performers to have the weight of an entire company on his shoulders as World Champion. Suddenly the guy who wasn't afraid to do a moonsault from the top rope or steal the show with the best athletic performance was someone that could be "the guy" and not just a special attraction. Shawn Michaels was much more than just a high flyer, but when he wanted to be one, he was a great one.
