It was a huge surprise to see Finn Balor retain the NXT Championship in Dallas because many were calling for him and a few of his debuting buddies to be main roster bound very soon. That can still happen but it seems less likely if he's holding on to that strap. Samoa was trying to lock in his Coquina Clutch on Balor and it looked like a submission was imminent. Reminiscent of Bret Hart's victory over Stone Cold Steve Austin at Survivor Series 1996, Finn Balor was able to use the ropes to roll Joe backwards into a pinning position even though he was still locked in the hold. Joe's shoulders were down for a count of 3, offering a shocking ending to a fantastic event.
