10 Most Insane Things That Ever Happened At WWE's Gorilla Position

5. Vince McMahon Makes Kevin Owens His Bitch

Brock Lesnar Vince McMahon Belt
WWE Network

These list entries in succession tell the story of modern WWE.

After his cursed showing at a WrestleMania event, Brock Lesnar threw the Universal Title belt in Vince McMahon's face. After his cursed showing at a WrestleMania event, Kevin Owens meekly gauged Vince McMahon's reaction to his match with Chris Jericho. Vince, cruelly, responded "No" with a face like a smacked arse.

The sheer contrast is staggering. Illuminating.

If you want Vince McMahon's respect, you must treat him the way he treats you: with pure disdain in a complex psychological pissing contest. If Owens had stormed off, yelling obscenities, McMahon might have enjoyed his fire. Instead, being a generally sound human being (not that you can be completely sure, being that it's wrestling), Owens felt a genuinely human emotion. He was gutted. He stood still with his head to the floor, the night he'd dreamt about for months ruined.

Vince could have simply...lied, or offered a euphemism or something. Or, he could have told the truth in a way that wasn't super c*nty. Instead, WWE Network viewers were glimpsed McMahon at his most low-key abusive.

How many unnecessary TV bumps did Owens volunteer for after this?
