10 Most Insane Things That Ever Happened At WWE's Gorilla Position

3. Liv Morgan's Match Is Cancelled At The Last Second

So what is the process in WWE?

The creative team gets together. They, together with Vince McMahon and senior officials, decide on various stories to set up or advance that week. They discuss which matches, promos and angles act as a vehicle to this end. They decide who needs to look strong, who can absorb a loss, who needs to get their heat back etc.

And then Vince decides the whole show is a piece of sh*t and reorders it to his own liking hours before showtime, rendering an entire creative team on about in excess of $1M per week, aggregated, entirely useless.

But once it's done, it's done, right?

Once the card is finalised, there can be no going back. Even WWE's total bastardisation of television is a sophisticated process timed out in such a way that improvisation is prohibited. Everything is controlled in such a mechanical way that the slightest deviation threatens to throw the whole thing into disarray.

Liv Morgan Vs. Ember Moon in September 2019 wasn't even a TV match. It was a dark match. And 30 seconds before the bell, it was cancelled. Why cancel it? Nobody gives a sh*t either way, just let Liv Morgan not feel depressed for a day.

This company doesn't even know what it's doing 30 seconds before they do it, man.

Insanity.
