10 Most Insane Vince McMahon Lies WWE Fans Fell For

2. Inflated Attendances

Vince McMahon has literally lied to shareholders about the attendances of certain WWE events; that they are to be heralded for "entertainment purposes only" is a matter of public record.

His most ardent/unhinged fans lap it up, because it means that their "thing" is massive, really popular, and a source of validation.

It's complete bullsh*t, and unnecessarily so; WrestleMania 32 actually did shatter WWE's attendance record by drawing 93,730 (per the Wrestling Observer Newsletter), but Vince McMahon wanted it to be a different, better number, slightly in excess of six figures, and simply made it a different number: 101,763.

Scrambling to justify the number, he later revealed that it incorporated "ushers and ticket takers and all of that".

"And all of that."

You have to include the ushers. They were there, after all. Legend has it that, when Roman Reigns defeated Triple H to win the WWE title, the concessions workers erupted in delight, spraying one another with beer in jubilant celebration. Several women were pregnant, statistically. The unborn - many of whom were named Joseph in honour of their new hero - also had to be included.

Also, the stories told of the greatest night in WWE history were so vivid that those who heard from those in attendance actually felt like they were present - so best include them as well!
