10 Most Insane Wrestling Magazine Covers Ever

4. The Wrestler, November 1976

Kamala Hulk Hogan
The Wrestler

Cover Star(s): Bobby Heenan, The Brusier, Penny Banner, Sharon Joy

Headline(s): 'MY GOD, BOBBY! WHAT HAPPENED TO YOUR FACE?', "GO GET ME THE LOUSIEST PARTNER YOU CAN FIND!" DEMANDED THE BRUISER', 'THE NIGHT SHARON JOY GOT HER BAPTISM OF FIRE', 'RAPIST INVADES GIRLS DRESSING ROOM!'.

Notes: The Apter Mags strike again with another bloodbath picture taking centre stage amongst the typically indelicate verbiage splashed across the cover.

By November 1976, Bobby Heenan was established in 'The Brain' managerial role he would go on to achieve global fame portraying for Vince McMahon in the 1980s and early 1990s. A smash for the AWA after debuting in 1974, Heenan managed both the AWA World and Tag Team Champions around press time. Accompanying both Nick Bockwinkel and the BlackJack Lanza/Bobby Duncum Sr unit respectively, he regularly took abuse such as this on behalf of his 'Family', and made sure the claret was captured for posterity.

The sordid 'Rapist' story discusses a ridiculous (and thankfully fabricated) tale in which female wrestler Cara Combs was forced to fight off a sex attack following a 'cheesecake' photoshoot in which she admits the photographer himself got a little too hands-on. Things were...different back then.
