10 Most Misused Wrestlers In WWE History

4. Kurt Angle

Kurt Angle King Of The Ring
WWE

How he was used: Usually a comedy goofball, or a chickens**t heel. When he was turned face, he was largely a serious act.

How he should have been used: As the toughest fighter on the planet.

Not everyone is going to agree with this pick, but Kurt Angle should not have done so much comedy. Yes, he was good at it. DAMN good. But WWE went too far with it. Angle is a once-in-a-lifetime talent. He’s an Olympic gold medalist, who became a great in-ring wrestler faster than just about anyone in history, and could also cut great promos.

After Angle’s initial heel run ran its course, it was time to make him a top face for years. But he kept flipping back and forth, and despite being one of the toughest men on the planet, he was made to look like every other ineffective, terrified for their life, heel on the roster.

Angle is one of the top stars of the business over the past couple of decades, but with the right protection (like not wearing a mini cowboy hat), he could have been near the level of Austin and Rock as a top babyface.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
