WWE is walking a fine line with Roman Reigns right now. On one hand, they are keeping him away from the main-event by putting him in the United States Championship situation with Rusev. On the other hand, he is in the Raw main-event almost every week. It gives the impression that WWE feels stuck between a rock and a hard place with Reigns; maybe that describes their situation perfectly.

Question at your own peril the mindset behind Reigns defeating Kevin Owens in a Steel Cage Match, but let us focus on the positives. Owens was protected in defeat; the match was yet another in a recent run of high quality TV main-events; Reigns may have kicked out of KO's finisher, but the comic book Superman presumably would not have climbed over the cage to win instead of plowing right through his competition for a more definitive victory. The climax segued decently to Rollins performing a heroic leap from the top of the cage.

On some levels, it worked, on others, it did not. It was a mixed bag of a main-event (plus aftermath), but it was noteworthy.
