10 Most Notorious Hulk Hogan Urban Legends

1. He Was Unaware That He Was Being Recorded During Sex Tape

HgoStory: Hogan's public image took a big hit when a sex tape was released to the website Gawker in 2012. The tape showed Hogan having sex with a woman named Heather Clem, who was the estranged wife of his good friend (at the time) and radio personality Bubba the Love Sponge. During the tape, Bubba left the room as Hogan had sex with Heather. What Hogan didn't know at the time, which was a time in his life when he was heavily drinking, was that he was being recorded by a camera that was in the room. Hogan was on the Today Show in 2012 and talked about how it has hurt him: "It's appalling. It's flipped my life totally upside down. It's something devastating to me. I've never been through anything on this level." The post about the sex tape is still up at Gawker with descriptions of what happened although the video isn't there. It's probably on the internet somewhere, but we're not going to bother looking for it. According to Hogan, he had no idea he was being recorded. He sued Bubba & Heather about it and then they settled it later in 2012. His legal issues with Gawker continue. 104c0214baa2e7664a130592667acfbcWhy People Believe It: Just looking at a still shot of the video you can see the quality of the picture isn't very good and the camera is high up in the room. That would suggest it was hidden from Hogan's view. Should We Believe It: Yes. Hogan seems to be telling the truth about this one. He seems genuine when he says he didn't want to be recorded. The video has definitely hurt his image as a family friendly kind of guy and it's understandable that it has made his life difficult. People should think about all of the accomplishments in his career when they hear his name, but at lot of the time now the first thing people bring up is the sex tape. That's a shame.
