7. Mickie James Was Fired For Reacting Badly To John Cena Breakup
The Legend: That Mickie James was fired after she reacted badly to breaking up with John Cena, who was married at the time. The Evidence: Former Spirit Squad member Kenny Dysktra was, at one point, engaged to Mickie James. The two dated during the mid-2000s for a number of years. Following Dykstra and Mickie James' WWE releases, however, he took to Twitter to air some dirty laundry about their relationship. According to Dykstra, James was having an affair with John Cena. In order for them to continue, Dykstra was moved to Smackdown to be kept out of the way (or so he claims). The disgruntled star tweeted that:
She was googling mickie james and john cena dating. I asked why, she broke down crying. Then I heard more from others. She was checking to see if it was on the net yet.
Continuing with his Twitter rant, Dykstra claimed that James wanted to date Cena and, when Cena declined, she lost the plot and was buried on television, then fired:
She wanted to date him, he said no, she flipped out backstage which led to her demise...When they were together she got the title, TV roles. When he dumped her she became Piggy James, then fired.
Dykstra came out with these allegations in 2012, two years after Mickie's release and four years after his own. Is It True: The timeline is a little vague but it's hard to know what Dykstra has to gain from making this public. By outing the company's top star like that, he's basically blackballed himself from WWE for life. He has no reason to lie but, without a rebuttal from Cena or James, if you think it's true then you're taking his word for it.
