9. The Hell In A Cell 2019 Main Event Finish

What happened, why did it happen and how little sense did it actually make?

Those were the questions bubbling through the incensed and baffled minds of WWE fans watching the absolute sh*t-show that was Hell In A Cell 2019's main event finish. The finish wasn't the only problem. The idiotic finish was rendered even more idiotic by a spot planted earlier in the match.

Here are some more questions: what is the difference between a mallet and a sledgehammer, and why was the threat of using one acceptable, and the threat of using another so terrifying that it compelled the referee to call a no contest? A stoppage made out of...fear that a murder clown might get hurt, even though the match framed him as invincible?

Other than CTRL+Fing **** in the Observer to recruit for NXT, what the f*ck has Triple H been doing for all these years? He used a sledgehammer all the time!

Bray Wyatt threatens to use a mallet: go nuts, pal. Seth Rollins threatens to use a sledgehammer: come on guy, that's too far.

What was the difference?

Did the referee simply surmise that one looked too comical to actually have an effect?
