Sure this might be more or less just a footnote in the long, storied careers of D-Von and Bubba Ray, but the fact remains it happened. Moreover, given what we saw down the line, this is even more of a head-scratcher.

During the original brand split in 2002, the D-Von and Bubba were drafted to separate shows. While it did seem odd WWE would break up one of their premiere tag teams, the thought was this might be the beginning of singles pushes for the two men.

Teah right. The two floated about in the midcard before being brought face to face on a pay per view where they eventually came to blows. There was no real long-term feud either and before long they simply reunited on Raw and continued as part of the tag team division. All and all, the breakup turned out to be utterly pointless. But hey at least we got vampire-goth-priest-thing Batista as part of it, who can complain about that, right?

After battling Galactus and pinning Hulk Hogan in the main event of Wrestlemania, I've taken a break from living in fantasy worlds, to focus on writing about them. I'm a comic book geek, a wrestling mark, a break dancer, and a scientist. One of those things may not be true.
