3. The Inner Circle Beats Down Jon Moxley (7.6 Million Views)

The video focuses on the events that followed Jon Moxley vs. Sammy Guevara in a superb match.

Moxley withstood Guevara’s offence which included a double stomp and standing shooting star press, and tapped him out with a rear naked choke. As Moxley celebrated with the crowd, Chris Jericho’s music played with the lights going out in the arena. When they came back on The Inner Circle (Jericho, Jake Hager and Santana/Ortiz) were in the ring, proceeding to beat down Moxley, with Jericho whipping him with the AEW World title. After Hager kicked Moxley in the groin, Jericho took a spike from his leather jacket and nailed Moxley in his eye with it, as Moxley rolled around the ring in agony as AEW staff and medical personnel ran out and The Inner Circle celebrated.

It was a first-class segment which generated a lot of old school heat for beloved babyface Moxley being beaten down by a dominant faction, similar to The Four Horsemen breaking Dusty Rhodes’ ankle and hand in the '80s. It produced momentum for The Inner Circle and established them as a faction not to be messed with in AEW.
