If this list had been curated a year ago, there is a good chance this would have been number one on the list.

It's tricky to cultivate prestige for a title that is only three years old, but like the AEW TNT Championship, Tony Khan and his roster have done a tremendous job in making the belt feel like the biggest in the business. Unlike the TNT title, the wheels haven't fallen off completely.

But they have been a little rockier this year.

After veterans such as Chris Jericho and Jon Moxley steered the belt through the first year or so of AEW history, Kenny Omega proved his value as a sensational champion. Unfortunately, despite the title victory being the culmination of one of the best stories in wrestling history, Hangman Page's run was nowhere near as thrilling as his chase.

Then there is CM Punk.

There is no denying that CM Punk was the biggest star in the company, and he proved in the nine months prior to winning the strap, that he still had it. Making him champion, despite it meaning sacrificing the great work done in building Hangman, was the right call.

Then injury happened. Then the confusing "interim" nonsense, that needed extra explaining. Then CM Punk came back and scorched AEW to the ground. Then it was up for grabs again. A number of this things were out of Tony Khan's control, but not all of them, and the shoddy mess of the past six months has hurt the belts standing in the wrestling world.

Now, with MJF as champion, it has a real chance of claiming back that prestige.
