10 Most Protected WWE Moves Ever
7. Spear
It is difficult for a move to truly be protected in 2016, especially one used by the top guy in the company who is wrestling in big matches every time he steps through the ropes. Finishers almost exist to be kicked out of at least once these days, something that WWE needs to fix. Still, from when The Shield debuted all the way up to the current day, Roman Reigns and his spear have been fairly well protected.
AJ Styles managed to survive a couple of them before succumbing to a mid-air variant at Extreme Rules this year, and before that only men of the calibre of Undertaker and Brock Lesnar had managed to get a shoulder up after the running tackle from Reigns.
Going further back, the move has a history of being well-protected. Goldberg won his matches with the Jackhammer, but you could argue that the spear beforehand did all the damage. Edge's variant looked somewhat like a running hug, but it was still treated like violence personified.
