1. WWE Royal Rumble 2005
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jMqcA3wiKG0 Finally, we have our number one, which takes the top spot for a few reasons. The ridiculousness of this one works in layers, really. For starters... well, just look at it. WWE Superstars dressed up like they're in "West Side Story" and singing. Well, "singing." Close enough. Next, can you imagine getting all those Superstars together for a shoot like this without them breaking out into a huge brawl before their cue? "In-universe," that is. Sure, there have been a lot of them in other ads, some even on this list, but you've seen how things go down in WWE. They can't even eat dinner together without a fight breaking out. But then, it's all a dream! Vince's dream! How are we seeing into Vince's dreams? Or is that part made-up? It's obviously made-up, but is it supposed to be made-up in the "WWE Universe" as well? Or just in our own "visit the merchandise booths and drive home safe" universe? But if it really is in-universe Vince's dream, then is there even an ad at all? All of this, and that's without even getting into the "Cookiegate" incident with TNA that occurred while shooting. Where does the ridiculousness of this commercial end? The rabbit hole just keeps on going down; do you take the Raw pill or the Smackdown pill? Good thing WWE has made it clear we're not supposed to take this stuff too seriously, huh? If we did, we'd just feel silly. Coming up with ten ridiculous WWE commercials was almost too easy-- they've been making them for as long as any of us can likely remember. If anything, narrowing them down to just ten was the hard part, and along the way, several had to be dropped after heavy consideration (and for the sake of variety). Of course, you might remember some of the ads that we left out, so feel free to share your favorites (if you can include a video link, so much the better) in the comments below. And if you're feeling especially opinionated, you can even tell us where you'd slot your pick into the Top 10.
