10 Most Ridiculous WWE Title Changes Of The 2000s

4. NostalgiaMania Is Running Wild

When it was announced that Hulk Hogan (along with Scott and Kevin Nash) was returning to the WWF, most insiders speculated that it was only a matter of time before the Hulkster was the company's Champion. Despite being 47 years old and past his physical prime, Hogan was still a master politician and manipulator. Indeed, it didn't take Hogan long to start stealing the show from under The Rock and Steve Austin. Hogan's glory-seeking performance against The Rock at WrestleMania 18 is the exact reason why Austin refused to do the match - he knew Hogan would go into business for himself to get himself over. But it worked. Vince and co were convinced that Hogan was their man and booked him to beat Triple H for the Undisputed Championship at Backlash. The Game had only won the belt the previous month at 'Mania, after a heavily-publicised return from injury and title chase. Hogan was not the draw that WWE had hoped he would be and took the belt off of him the next month at Judgement Day (he lost to The Undertaker in a dreadful match). That Vince put the belt on him in the first place was a major mistake.
