10 Most Selfish WrestleMania Performances

1. Triple H - WrestleMania XIX

Heading into WrestleMania XIX, WWE decided to put on one of the most disgusting feuds in company history. World Heavyweight Champion Triple H decided to start attacking number one contender Booker T with some very, very thinly veiled racist insults, making the program an absolutely foul use of TV time. Backstage, Triple H justified the direction of the storyline by saying that since Booker T was going to win the eventual title match, the bad guy would "get his" and everything would be solved in the end.

Of course, that logic is ridiculous and doesn't begin to excuse the harmful rhetoric that HHH spewed on screen. Triple H, meanwhile, decided to wreck Booker T's career with one of his signature political maneuvers, managing to convince higher-ups prior to WrestleMania XIX that he should be victorious in the match.

Plans were changed, and HHH went over in true selfish fashion - he hit the Pedigree, then waited about 20 seconds before actually covering Booker T... and still got the pin. Fans are conditioned to think that delays like that lead to kickouts, so the ending was flat. Triple H tried to make himself look like an unstoppable force, but he simply reminded fans of how much damage he had done to wrestling.
