10 Most Shocking Revelations From WWE In 2019
10. Lars Sullivan's Messageboard History
The headline 'Lars Sullivan Fined $100,000 By WWE For Controversial Message Board Comments' certainly raised eyebrows this year, but it doesn't even begin to tell half of the story. Mere months after being called up to the main roster, Lars found himself in significant hot water with both management and the locker room for things he'd posted online.
Some mocked religions, some were (and I'll be diplomatic here) "racially insensitive", others were flat-out homophobic and, as the icing on this particular cake, some posts were directly aimed at WWE Superstars he now found himself working with. AJ Styles, Daniel Bryan, Zack Ryder, Scott Hall, Kofi Kingston, R-Truth, The Rock, Del Rio, AJ Lee and, best of all, the McMahon's themselves, all came under fire from Lars and his keyboard.
After the posts were made public, WWE sent him to "sensitivity training" and he posted a statement reading; "There is no excuse for the inappropriate remarks that I made years ago. They do not reflect my personal beliefs nor who I am today, and I apologize to anyone I offended." He's not been seen in the company since squashing Lucha House Party in June.
