10 Most Shocking Things That Happened On Post-WrestleMania WWE Raws

8. The DX Army Comes To Life (30 March 1998)

D-Generation X wasn’t in great shape heading into the Raw after WrestleMania XIV.

Shawn Michaels was out. A debilitating back injury suffered while wrestling The Undertaker at the Royal Rumble forced him into what would become a four-year hiatus, thus jeopardising the stable he'd former with Triple H. Fortunately, Hunter had the answers.

The storyline was that Triple H had ejected Michaels from the group for "dropping the ball" when Mike Tyson cost him the WWE Championship to Steve Austin the night before. The stable was leaderless, directionless, and low on members, so Hunter took control and immediately refilled the ranks.

"This is the genesis of D-Generation X," he said. In forming the DX Army, he looked to his blood, his buddies, his friends. He looked to The Kliq.

Out came Sean Waltman. Not seen in WWE since 1996 and newly cut loose from WCW, the former 1-2-3 Kid had been rechristened X-Pac. An incendiary shoot promo followed. Waltman had bullets for Hulk Hogan, Eric Bishoff, and the WCW hierarchy, and later, we got the New Age Outlaws jumping onboard the DX banter bus, rounding off this new version of the Attitude Era’s most iconic WWE stable.
