WWE 24: The Show Must Go On

Superstars appeared as talking heads to discuss WrestleMania without a crowd, and, as expected, superstars such as Kevin Owens and Rhea Ripley downplayed any disappointment and hyped up WrestleMania: New Normal. However, Drew McIntyre departed from the company line and vented his anger.

Having his big WrestleMania moment in the crowd-less Performance Center was not how McIntyre imagined his hard-fought glory. He vented "I remember hearing it in the news […] I was just so p***ed off. You know obviously when Drew McIntyre finally makes it to main-event WrestleMania, everything's gonna go to Hell”.

However, once McIntyre had calmed down and began learning more about the extent of the pandemic, he had a shift in priorities. When comparing his sacrifice of his “special moment in a stadium full of people” to the worldwide panic, suffering, and deaths, he began to feel guilty. McIntyre endeavoured to make the most of the WrestleMania moment that he had been given. They may not have been there to cheer, but McIntyre’s win was one of the wrestling world’s feel-good moments, providing a short break from the bleakness of 2020.
