10 Most Shocking WrestleMania Turns

6. Bret Hart (WrestleMania IV)

A leap across the divide designed to start a singles run that wouldn't commence proper for another four years, Bret Hart's rage at the conclusion of a WrestleMania IV battle royal aided a switch that would see 'The Hitman' and partner Jim Neidhart part company with Jimmy Hart to forge a new path as babyfaces.

Working in tandem with Bad News Brown to eliminate the remainder of the field, Hart celebrated with the Harlem villain a little too liberally, allowing Brown to nail him with his Ghetto Blaster enziguri and eliminate him for the victory. Incensed with Brown and himself, Hart returned fire during the awarding of a giant trophy, running off Bad News and destroying the mammoth prize much to the chagrin of the victor.

The act of poor sportsmanship was remarkably well received, highlighting just how ready fans were to cheer the Foundation, and especially Bret himself.

Brown and Hart would go at it in singles contests in the immediate aftermath, but lukewarm responses to the matches lead to Vince splitting the Harts away from 'The Mouth of the South' to permanently cement the turn for the team and put Hart's solo push temporarily on the back-burner.
