10 Most Shocking WWE Royal Rumble Eliminations Ever

6. Chris Jericho Eliminates Shawn Michaels (2003)

HBK makes the list for the wrong reasons this time out, and his exit in 2003's underrated Rumble was a moment that truly rammed home the idea that anything goes when it comes to this match. Still flying off the back of making one of the most unexpected and emphatic returns in WWE history during the previous year, HBK was undoubtedly a favourite to win 2003's event, and even when he emerged as the Number 1 entrant for the contest, those that knew Michaels' history believed that he could still pull it off. That is, of course, until that crafty so-and-so Chris Jericho dumped him out less than three minutes into the match by having his buddy Christian distract Michaels, allowing Y2J to get in the sneak attack and send him hurtling to the floor. It was a shocking start to a Rumble packed with big names, and it may just remain the most surprising opening five minutes of any Rumble ever.
