7. Curtis Axel

AxelMania, the Social Outcasts, and The Miztourage are among the unfortunate gimmicks Curtis Axel has been saddled with in recent years.

Still, the man who performs using a combination of his father (Curt Henning) and grandfather's (Larry 'The Axe' Henning) names has managed to have three title runs.

Early in his WWE career, while performing as Michael McGillicuty, he captured the tag titles with David Otunga. He also held the Intercontinental Championship for a few months in 2013.

Truth be told, neither of his first two titles reigns was very successful. He would be sent back down to NXT shortly after dropping the tag title, and losing the Intercontinental Championship marked the end of his singles push.

However, as title runs go, the third time may indeed be the charm for this third-generation grappler. As a member of the B-Team, the current RAW Tag Team Champions, the 38-year-old is as popular as he's ever been.

Had Curtis Axel been able to capitalize on some of his earlier pushes, he would likely be further down the list, but he's still done reasonably well for himself.
