8. 'The French Angel' Maurice Tillet

Given that he wrestled in the 1940s, there are probably a fair number of folks who are reading about Maurice Tillet for the first time. That being said, there may be something strangely familiar about the 5'9" Frenchman who was once billed as the "World's Ugliest Man".

This familiarity likely stems from the fact that 'The French Angel' is rumored to have been the inspiration for the popular Dreamworks character Shrek.

Tillet's head was twice the size of an average man's his height. His hands were large enough to shuffle three decks of cards at the same time. The Frenchman's unusual proportions were the result of a condition called acromegaly.

Despite his appearance, outside the ring "The Angel" was a well-educated gentleman who received a law degree though he never actually used it.

Gentleman or not, Tillet's old 1940s black and white promo photos are some of the creepiest images pro wrestling has ever seen.
