10 Most Terrifying WWE Stipulations Ever

8. Casket

Although the classic "force your opponent into a container to win" match has many variations - including the ambulance, hearse and dumpster variations - the most visually compelling remains the classic casket match. Spawned by Dusty Rhodes and Ivan Koloff in the 1970s, it was revived to coincide with the Undertaker's rise to prominence in the 90s. The bout between the Deadman and Shawn Michaels at the 1998 Royal Rumble probably remains the benchmark for this stipulation, as well as its most terrifying incarnation. The match - in which HBK suffered his infamous back injury - revolved around Undertaker chasing a clearly petrified Michaels around the ring. It's final image, Kane saluting the burning casket after interfering to lock his brother inside, is one of the most striking in wrestling. His earlier battering of the lid with a hatchet is probably the closest a wrestling match can look to a horror movie.
