In 2004, Kane took part in one of the most uncomfortable storylines in recent memory, as part of a weird love angle with Lita. The idea behind the storyline was that Kane asked Lita, who was seeing Matt Hardy at the time, to carry his child. This led to a love triangle of sorts between the three of them, with Kane even marrying Lita on one episode of RAW. However, while Kane was presented as the bad guy in that story, everything changed when Gene Snitsky entered the picture. It can become one of the most traumatic and devastating moments in a familys life, and once that no one wants to see on a show that should be centered on wrestling above all else. As such, it wouldnt be surprising for some fans to have felt uncomfortable when WWE Superstars and Divas mocked Kane and Lita for their love affair.
